Artist Bio
Muhammad Saadiq is a San Francisco Bay Area photographer. He is a military veteran of 24 years, of both the Navy and Coast Guard. He is drawn to issues of social consciousness and connection and the underdog in the human experience. Originally from the south, he has witnessed social injustice in our world. He experienced the 1980’s resultant riots of the murder of Arthur McDuffie blocks away from his home. While his father was stationed in Germany, he visited Dachau an experience that has never left him. He witnessed the imbalances of power and treatment of the Haitian immigrants as compared with the Cuban immigrants before them. As a photographer he seeks to draw attention to these imbalances in his push for a better world. He is currently working on projects involving vulnerability and judgement.
